Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Dulhan Sarees (“we,” “us,” or “Dulhan”), a retailer of women’s ethnic wear and bridal jewellery headquartered in Guwahati, Assam. By browsing dulhansarees.in, creating an account, or placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms in full.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms apply to every interaction you have with Dulhan — including this storefront, our mobile experience, our WhatsApp Business channel, and any other touchpoint we operate. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the service.

These Terms are published in accordance with the provisions of Rule 3(1) of the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines) Rules, 2011, as amended, and require the publication of these rules and the privacy policy for access or usage of the website.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and competent to enter a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to place an order. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are placing an order on behalf of a business, you warrant that you are authorised to do so.

3. Accounts & security

You may create an account to view orders, save addresses, and use the wishlist. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately at hello@dulhansarees.in if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, attempt fraud, or breach payment guarantees.

4. Orders & pricing

All prices on the site are in Indian Rupees (₹) and inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Prices, availability, and product descriptions may change without notice.

Placing an order is an offer by you to purchase. We accept the offer only when we confirm dispatch — until then we may decline any order, including for pricing or stock errors, suspected fraud, or unserviceable destinations. If an order is declined after payment, the amount is refunded to the original payment method.

5. Payments

Online payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). We do not store full card numbers, CVVs, or UPI PINs at any point. Razorpay supports Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, UPI, net-banking, popular wallets, and EMI options.

Cash on Delivery (where available) carries a small handling charge shown at checkout. Orders above ₹15,000 may require prepayment in full or a partial advance for made-to-order pieces.

6. Shipping & returns

Shipping timelines, charges, and serviceable pin codes are described in our Shipping Policy. Returns and refunds are governed by our Returns & Refunds policy. In summary: unused, untagged ready-to-wear products may be returned within 7 days of delivery; jewellery is returnable within 3 days subject to inspection.

7. Made-to-order & customisation

Pieces tagged as made-to-order, custom, or altered — such as bridal lehengas stitched to your measurements, blouse pieces tailored to your size, or sarees with custom fall & pico — are final sale. We exchange or repair only if the defect is on our part (incorrect measurements taken by our team, stitching faults, or damaged delivery reported within 48 hours).

Lead times for made-to-order pieces are stated on each product page and confirmed on WhatsApp before production begins. Standard lead time is 21–45 days depending on the embellishment density and current studio queue.

8. AI try-on & generated content

Our AI try-on tool lets you upload a photograph of yourself and previews how a saree or lehenga might look on you. The output is an illustration, not a real fitting — colours, drape, and fall on the actual product can vary based on body type, lighting, and weave variations. Your uploaded image is used only to render the try-on and is not retained beyond the active session.

AI-generated product imagery on listings is clearly tagged where applicable and is meant to help you visualise style possibilities; the actual garment may show natural variation typical of handcrafted Indian textiles.

9. WhatsApp, email & SMS communications

By placing an order or opting in, you consent to receive transactional updates (order confirmation, shipping, delivery, returns) on WhatsApp, email, and SMS. These messages are necessary to fulfil your purchase and cannot be unsubscribed from while the order is active.

Promotional broadcasts (drops, sales, festive edits) are optional. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp, clicking Unsubscribe in any marketing email, or writing to hello@dulhansarees.in.

10. Intellectual property

The Dulhan name, the “DulhAn” wordmark, the colour palette, product photography, descriptions, video reels, and all content on this site are owned by Dulhan Sarees or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of it for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

You may share product pages and screenshots on personal social media for non-commercial purposes provided the brand is credited. Re-selling our photographs as your own listings is strictly prohibited.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service in a way that breaks any law or violates anyone’s rights;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems;
  • Scrape product data, images, or pricing by automated means;
  • Post abusive, defamatory, or misleading reviews;
  • Use stolen payment methods or chargeback fraud;
  • Resell items received from Dulhan as your own products or under a different brand.

12. Disclaimers

Handcrafted Indian textiles and embellishments carry natural variations in colour, weave, and bead placement. These are characteristics of the craft and not manufacturing defects.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except those that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dulhan’s aggregate liability for any claim related to an order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — including lost profits, missed events, or alteration delays caused by force majeure events (natural disasters, courier strikes, government action, war).

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Dulhan against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the service.

15. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Guwahati, Assam. Before going to court we encourage you to write to us — most issues can be resolved within a few days.

16. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes are highlighted on this page and, where required, communicated by email. Your continued use of the service after a change indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
